Element 3 Observation

In Element 3, there are a few questions that offer "All of these" or "None of these" or "Any of these" as a possible answer. The only one you can trust is "Any of these". It only shows up one time, and you can trust it as the correct answer.

SECTION H
103. A Loop-antenna:

a} Is bi-directional.

b} Is usually vertical.

c} Is more often used as a receiving antenna.

d} Any of these.@@

The ONLY times "All of these" or "None of these" are correct, are one time each listed below:

SECTION D
118. Ship's power is generated 3-phase, ungrounded. On a
delta-wound transformer with 120 Vac line-to-line secondary, the
voltmeter reading from line to ground is:

a} Approximately 67 Vac for a normal balanced system with no
faults.

b} 0 Vac for a system with that phase faulted to ground.

c} 120 Vac when another phase is faulted to ground.

d} None of these.@@

SECTION H
87. What is the purpose of stacking elements on an antenna?

a} Sharper directional pattern.

b} Increased gain.

c} Improved bandpass.

d} All of these.@@

Question 33 in Section B deals with Skip Distance. The answer is LOWEST, HIGHEST.
A good way to remember this is when you try to skip stones on a pond. You always do it at the LOWEST angle at the HIGHEST speed. This is similar to how radio waves skip around the globe.
